Acceptable use of the website

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree to use the Site in a way that does not interfere with its normal operation, security, or availability to other users, and that does not infringe the rights of the Company or any third party.

The Site is provided for general information. You may view, read, and reference its Content for your own personal or internal business purposes. Any other use, including bulk copying, redistribution, or commercial reuse of the Content, requires the Company's prior written permission, as set out in the "Intellectual property" clause below.

Prohibited activities

When using the Site, you must not:

  • use the Site in any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to it;
  • introduce malware, viruses, or any other material that is malicious or technologically harmful, including through any contact or enquiry form;
  • use automated systems, bots, scrapers, or harvesters to extract Content or to place a disproportionate load on the Site's infrastructure;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or underlying structure of any part of the Site, except to the extent expressly permitted by law;
  • misrepresent your identity, impersonate any person, or submit false or misleading information through any form on the Site.

We reserve the right to restrict or withdraw access to the Site, or to take other appropriate action, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.

Intellectual property

All Content on the Site, including its text, articles, guides, illustrations, graphics, design, layout, and branding, is owned by the Company or licensed to it, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. The texts on this Site have been written specifically for crypto-license.io, and the illustrations have been created or commissioned for it; they are not reproduced from any third party.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view the Content for your own personal or internal business use. Nothing in these Terms transfers to you any right, title, or interest in the Content or in the Company's intellectual property.

No legal, financial, or tax advice

The Content on the Site, including everything published about crypto, VASP, CASP, and exchange licensing, is provided for general information only. It does not constitute legal, financial, tax, regulatory, or professional advice of any kind, and you must not treat it as such.

Crypto and financial-services regulation is complex and depends on the specific facts of each case, the jurisdiction involved, and the applicable rules at the relevant time. You should obtain advice from a suitably qualified professional before making any decision or taking any action based on information found on the Site. The Company is not responsible for any decision you make, or refrain from making, in reliance on the Content.

No client or advisory relationship is formed

Accessing the Site, reading the Content, or submitting an enquiry through a contact form does not, by itself, create a client, advisory, consultancy, or any other professional relationship between you and the Company. A professional relationship is formed only when the Company and a client enter into a separate written engagement agreement that sets out the scope of work, the parties' obligations, and the applicable terms. Until such an agreement is signed, no engagement exists and no related duties arise.

Accuracy of information and no warranty

The Content on the Site, including any references to regulatory frameworks such as the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation (MiCA), the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards, and the requirements of authorities such as FINMA, VARA, MAS, the FCA, and BaFin, is general in nature and is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Laws, regulations, capital thresholds, timelines, fees, and supervisory practices change frequently and differ between jurisdictions. We make reasonable efforts to keep the Content useful and current, but we do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, up to date, or applicable to your particular circumstances. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all representations, warranties, and conditions, whether express or implied, relating to the Site and its Content. You rely on the Content at your own risk and should always confirm the current position with a qualified professional before acting.

Third-party links and references

The Site links to and references third-party sources, including regulators, legislation portals, official registries, and other external websites, so that you can verify information or read primary materials. These links are provided for convenience and reference only.

We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of any third-party website or resource. Accessing a third-party site linked from crypto-license.io is at your own risk and is subject to that site's own terms and policies. The inclusion of a link does not imply any association between the Company and the linked party.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Swiss law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss or damage, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of the Site, your reliance on any Content, or your inability to use the Site, whether based in contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the Company's liability where it would be unlawful to do so under Swiss law. These limitations relate to your use of the informational Site and are separate from any liability arising under a signed engagement agreement for the Company's Services, which is governed by the terms of that agreement.

Changes to these terms

We may update or amend these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Site, or applicable law. When we make changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page, which reflects the current version of the Terms.

Your continued use of the Site after we publish revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically so that you are aware of the Terms that apply to your use of the Site.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland. The parties agree that the courts of Zug, Switzerland, shall have jurisdiction over any such dispute, to the extent permitted by mandatory law.
